Boobs or Butt? Lemaire Shows Bags for Both in Paris

Fashion loves a bit of nudity — an exposed nipple here, an exposed penis there. And it’s all good and fine because it’s not about pornography, it’s about ART. This season has seen a shift from actual nude bodies (though worry not, they’re still there), to nudity featured on clothes and accessories. In London, Christopher Kane turned nude sketches into Swiss lace appliqués on subtly romantic dresses, and today designers Christophe Lemaire and Sarah Linh-Tran at Lemaire sent out a handbag shaped like breasts. The molded leather bag, designed in collaboration with Carlos Penafiel, a Chilean sculptor, peeked out from under a very covered-up look composed of a long-sleeve wool dress, paired with high boots and a wool cape thrown on top. I guess when your vibe can best be described as “monastic chic,” you’ll need a way to express your sensual side.
And if you’re more of a derrière person, fear not, there was a glute-bag on the runway as well.
