Bonded Pair of 7-Month-Old New Jersey Kittens with No Applications Deserve Better

It's hard to imagine many things cuter than kittens, especially when they come in pairs like Molly and Maisy do. Two is better than one, after all, and having a pair of cats means twice the fun, love, and silliness. Okay--it's twice the cost, too, but many cat owners think having a second a second kitty to love is well worth the extra expenses.

This bonded pair of 7-month-old kittens have been waiting patiently for over a month at the Petco Adoption Center in Brooklawn, New Jersey--and no one can understand why! This duo is as playful and as sweet as can be, but so far they've yet to receive a single adoption application. Their friends at South Jersey's Community Cat Club know they'll make the right owner so happy, so they shared the duo on TikTok on February 1.

Aww! These shelter kittens couldn't get any cuter if they tried. I'm willing to bet that their playful spirits could make anyone smile, and I'm equally as confused as to why they haven't found an adopter yet. Just look at all the love they're getting on TikTok!

"That's crazy they don't have any applications!" agreed one commenter. "I'm an adoption counselor at a shelter, and everyone's always calling for bonded kitten pairs." That makes sense! Bonded pairs will always have a friend, so they could be great for pet parents who go to work during the day. And let's face it--kittens will always be popular.

So why is everyone passing up these two angels? Maisy the Tuxedo kitty is the most charming little extrovert! She'll keep her family laughing with her playful antics, and she'll definitely be the key to getting sister Molly to come out of her shell. The black cat may be a bit shy, but no one doubts that she'll thrive in the right home.

What to Expect When Adopting a Kitten

Bringing home a little ball of energy (or two!) may look like a lot of fun, but it will be a lot of work, too. Kittens require more frequent care than most adult cats, and you'll need to make a few extra decisions as they grow up. Transitioning from kitten food to adult cat food, for example, can be a process that requires a little research and planning.

When adopting a cat of any age, be prepared to be patient. Your new kitty may want to be alone for the first few days, so it's best to start by introducing them to one area of your home at a time. Keep them in your bedroom for the first few days, for example, until they seem more comfortable and confident. Taking baby steps will help your new cat feel at home!

Maisy and Molly only need a little time with the right person to show their sweet personalities, so I feel confident in saying that their forever home is just around the corner.
