Boll & Branch Just Released a Luxe Bedding Collection Made with the Top .04% of the World’s Cotton

Boll & Branch’s new Reserve Collection is available for preorder starting today. This brand-new bedding line is made with the top .04% of the world’s organic cotton (to put that into perspective, the cotton used in this collection is technically rarer than a flawless diamond). Boll & Branch has always made beautifully soft and well-constructed bedding, but this line takes it to a new level with its small-batch, long-staple cotton.
Missy Tannen, founder and chief designer of Boll & Branch, says she and her team took on the challenge of finding the longest-staple organic cotton fibers in existence. She says, “We partnered directly with farmers to grow them from scratch, which is an art form in itself.” This process took a tremendous amount of time and effort, so Tannen wanted to honor the quality of these rare fibers by ensuring they were woven in the most incredible way possible. She says, “We made the threads ultra fine by spinning them 25% longer than conventional mill time, and brought out the highest level of softness with our unique flame-based finish. This extra step eliminates the tiny frays on each thread, giving it the smoothest, silkiest hand-feel.”
This remarkable line features several new products, including sheet sets and duvet sets; a lattice jacquard sheet set, quilt set, and duvet set; a bed blanket; and the alpaca line. The Reserve Collection will feature five neutral colorways—including white, ivory, twig (a medium brown with gold), pewter, and shore (a light gray-blue). Because this collection is so incredibly rare, customers are only able to purchase two products for each selection.
Tannen says, “There’s a limited number of ultra-long staple threads in each cotton harvest. It took us years to cultivate, spin, and weave these threads.” She adds, “These processes are done slowly, for good reason. In today's world, everything is moving fast. At Boll & Branch, we wanted to slow it down. Go back to time-honored traditions. Make things the right way. It’s why Reserve fabrics are limited in quantity, and absolutely worth it. In the end, you have a fabric that’s silky, lustrous, and softer than anything else you've ever felt.”
This artful bedding collection boasts couture details and craftsmanship that truly set it apart. Tannen says, “On our sheet and duvet sets, you’ll find meticulous mitered corners, a special wide cuff that's sewn on by hand, and beautiful French seams. In addition to our solid Reserve fabrics, the collection offers sheets, duvet sets, and quilts with a gorgeous lattice motif. These sheet and duvet sets feature an embellished lattice cuff, while the quilt showcases our lattice design from top to bottom, with a bound and piped hem that’s hand-finished by expert tailors. It has a distinct high-low texture and subtle sheen that’s incredibly sophisticated.” She adds, “We didn’t cut any corners, and stopped at nothing short of rare, silky, and extraordinary…We toiled over every single detail, because we want you to sleep better at night.”
