“The Bold Type” Season 4 Is Coming to Freeform

And there's a new trailer to tide you over.

Rejoice, would-be Scarlet staffers: The Bold Type’s fourth season is finally on its way. The popular Freeform series announced that it would return to the network on Thursday, January 23 — and there’s a juicy trailer to tide you over until then.

The one-minute clip details the upcoming season’s primary conflicts, many of which were established in Season 3’s cliffhanger of a finale. Jane (Katie Stevens) is still reeling after her boyfriend Ryan AKA “Pinstripe” (Dan Jeannotte) confessed to kissing another woman during his book tour, and Kat (Aisha Dee) is still dealing with drama surrounding her relationship with Adena (Nikohl Boosheri). As for Sutton (Meghann Fahy), it seems as though she’ll be trying her hand at being a fashion influencer, while everyone at Scarlet Magazine is adjusting to a work environment sans Jacqueline Carlyle (Melora Hardin), who is still “fighting for women” despite being ousted from the publication. Oh, and don't worry — there’s plenty of group hugs and bonding in the fashion closet.

Amanda Lasher, who served as showrunner for the series on the second and third seasons, told TV Insider that Jane, Kat, and Sutton will be facing a brand-new challenge that they did not expect, while noting that the friendship between the three women remains "the truest love story of the show.”

The series’ three stars have echoed that sentiment as well. In conversation with MTV News, Aisha noted that friends are often better soulmates than romantic partners. “We’re taught through movies and media a lot of the time to look for your Prince Charming ... but really, your friends are the ones who stick with you through all of it,” she said.

We certainly can’t wait to watch their love story blossom even more throughout the 18 episodes of Season 4. Check out the trailer below!
