'Bold and Beautiful's Kimberlin Brown Breaks Silence on 'Tough' Show Exit

Kimberlin Brown confirmed she will not be reprising her role as Sheila Carter in The Bold and the Beautiful following the drama that unfolded on the soap earlier this week.

The Monday, Feb. 26, episode saw fashion executive Steffy Forrester (played by Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) stab her mother-in-law and nemesis, Sheila Carter, and now, we know for a fact that the assault was fatal and there's no chance she could be faking her death...again.

“It’s a tough place for me to be in right now; I’m not going to lie about this,” Brown shared with TV Insider after the initial broadcast. “I guess if anyone were going to take Sheila down, I’m happy it’s Steffy," she joked.

Brown, 62, noted that even though Steffy's actions make sense, having her character taken out by her only enemy still isn't what she hoped for. “I just wish that no one was taking Sheila down,” she told the outlet. "[The show] is my happy place where I have been so blessed to be for over 35 years. But I’ve had a good run at it, so I’m one of the lucky ones."

Brown's run as Sheila began on CBS' sister soap, The Young and the Restless, in 1990. There, she stirred up all sorts of issues, including drugging the husband of Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) and stealing the couple's baby. Sheila then faked her death and moved to Los Angeles, seamlessly transitioning to The Bold and the Beautiful, where she continued to create chaos–until now, anyway.

In addition to being a CBS regular for three decades, Brown has also held roles in several other daytime programs, including All My Children, General Hospital and One Life to Live.

As for what's next for Brown, fans will just have to wait and see.
