This Bodybuilder Took on C.T. Fletcher’s Arm Day ‘Gauntlet’

YouTuber and bodybuilder Will Tennyson has trained with some of the strongest, swolest athletes in their field, from arm wrestling champion Michael Todd to the reigning World's Strongest Man title holder Mitchell Hooper. In a new video on his channel, Tennyson hits the gym for an arm day session with legendary bodybuilder, powerlifter, and "iron addict" C.T. Fletcher.

A three-time World Bench Press Champion and three-time World Strict Curl Champion, Fletcher, 64, now owns the Iron Addicts Gym, where he works as a fitness coach. Fletcher is known for the "gauntlet," a brutal triceps routine which consists of 200 skull crushers performed on the ground.

"It's going to build some big-ass triceps, and big-ass triceps are essential to a big-ass bench," says Fletcher, describing Tennyson's giant set as "200 reps of hell."

"I don't think I've actually had a tricep pump like this ever," says Tennyson after he completes all 200. "I think I've added two inches."

Next, they take on the strict curl. Fletcher advises that "If you want to be really good at the strict curl, you've got to curl heavy," and so Tennyson begins at 125 pounds and then goes up to 130, commenting that it feels much heavier after working his triceps so hard.

After that comes the bench press, a test which Fletcher says Tennyson passes "with flying fucking colors," and then the preacher curl. Tennyson finishes the intense session with standing cable pulldowns, which he performs to failure, fulfilling the only requirement that Fletcher asks of all his clients: to give him everything they've got.

"Look at the biceps on that guy," says Fletcher. "He did everything I threw at him." His verdict? Will Tennyson is a "bad motherfucker."
