While the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has halted the cadence of everyday life for just about everyone, the world is now beginning to adjust. We're all handling the challenges of social distancing and self-isolation differently—but that doesn't mean that we have to go it completely alone in every sense.
At Men's Health, we're using this period as an opportunity to build up our community and share as much useful, positive information as possible. For everyone stuck missing their typical workout routines with gyms and fitness centers closed down, we've done our best to provide as many at-home workout options as possible. But that's just the start. We're also hosting live workout sessions on Instagram with some of our favorite trainers to fill the fitness class-shaped void in your daily routine.
Not sure how to train this week? We’ve got you covered with six IG Live workouts, Monday through Saturday, every day at 12 EST (each workout is available for 24 hours after too). Build muscle, burn fat, and hone your mobility with these expert trainers all this week. ********************************* Monday: @donsaladino and @ebenezersamuel23 tag-team muscle sesh Tuesday: @seangarner conditioning blast Wednesday: @dangiordanodpt mobility and recovery Thursday: @bobbymaximus bodyweight conditioning Friday: @ebenezersamuel23 muscle Saturday: @catchngo core and cardio *******************************

Bobby Maximus, former UFC fighter, fitness personality, and author of the Men's Health Maximus Body book, hosted the latest session. Maximus makes a point to train without equipment even when he has a fully-stocked gym at his disposal—so creating an accessible session for guys stuck at home without access to gear fits perfectly to his training style.
His most recent session falls right in line with this school of thought. In fact, the only piece of equipment you'll need isn't even something you'd typically find in the gym: a standard deck of playing cards. This is the same workout format that Maximus shared last week, due to popular demand—but now, there's a twist.
"Last week was a bit of a trial run," says Maximus. "We went through part of a deck of cards. This workout, we're going to go through the whole damn thing—and we're going to time ourselves to see how long it takes us."
Bobby Maximus' Clear the Deck Bodyweight Workout Challenge
The game is simple: Start your timer. Maximus (or you at home, if you ever want to replicate the format) decides on a bodyweight exercise, then pulls a card. Whatever number you pull, you follow up with that many reps. Make sure that you pick the move before you pull, so you're not encouraged to cheat. Keep going until the deck is toast.
Maximus finished the deck in 23:18. Can you go more quickly? Give it a try, and tell us how you did.
