Bobby Flay Just Shared His Red Velvet Hot Chocolate Recipe & It's Even More Decadent Than You Can Imagine

If you thought warm melted chocolate with creamy marshmallows on top (aka, hot chocolate) was rich, just wait until you try Bobby Flay’s new recipe. The Food Network chef somehow made this delicious winter drink even more decadent — and you’re going to need to try this immediately.

The American chef and restaurateur shared his Red Velvet Hot Chocolate recipe, and it looks amazing. While Flay warms some milk on the stove, he works on creating his own whipped topping. He mixes heavy cream and other ingredients, then folds in marshmallow topping. (Genius, right?)

“The hot chocolate is red, the marshmallow cream is white, and the red and white go perfectly for the holidays,” Flay tells viewers in the video posed to Food Network’s YouTube Channel.

Once the topping is done, he adds cocoa powder and semi-sweet chocolate to the simmering milk to “make it incredibly rich and flavorful” and “not too sweet.” It’s almost as thick as chocolate pudding now, and it looks so good.

After adding another ingredient “to bring out that chocolate flavor,” Flay adds red food dye to get that classic red velvet color. Then he pours it into a clear mug and tops with the fluffy marshmallow cream topping. Voila! The perfect Christmas dessert drink.

“Bobby Flay never ceases to amaze us as always.😋” one person commented on the video.

Someone else recommended adding beetroot powder to the mix instead of red dye to give it the same color with added health benefits. Another person suggested adding a shot of spiced rum!
