Bobby Berk Shares Exclusive Details About ‘Queer Eye’ Season 6

Bobby Berk is spilling exclusive details about Queer Eye season six, and it sounds even better than the previous installments (including—dare we say—Japan).

PureWow recently sat down for an interview with the 38-year-old interior design expert, who shared never-before-heard deets about the all-new season of Queer Eye. Berk confirmed that Netflix shut down production due to the coronavirus pandemic but assured fans that the Fab Five will be reunited in no time.

“We were filming season six when all this hit,” he told PureWow. “We got through one episode in Austin. And then, unfortunately, everyone got quarantined, so we had to stop filming. But at some point this year, we’ll be back.”

When asked about the show’s new location (Austin, Texas), Berk immediately responded, “Love it, love it, love it, love it.” Although the design guru’s trip was cut short, he can’t wait to return for more adventures.

“I can’t talk enough about how great Austin is,” Berk said. “Sadly, I was only there about a week and a half before the city got shut down, but it’s such a beautiful city. It’s so green. It’s such an outdoor city. It very much reminded me of L.A.”

His favorite part? The food (natch). “The food scene there is just amazing,” Berk said. “I’m originally from Texas—I’m from Houston—and this is no knock on Houston, even though it is a knock on Houston: Austin’s just the best city in Texas. It really is. The last time I had been to Austin was 1998. And to say the city has changed would be an understatement.”

This is the first time Queer Eye is visiting Texas. However, the show’s location won’t affect Berk’s designs all that much. “My designs are always affected by whatever individual hero we’re working with. It doesn’t really matter where they are,” he explained. “I don’t think any specific location we’ve worked in has ever had a direct effect on my design because all of our heroes are so very much unique.”

Berk will kick-off the Oui Heritage Workshop series, a step-by-step crafting tutorial using glass pots from the Heritage Collection, this Bastille Day (7/14) on his IGTV (@Bobby). The series will continue with three additional workshops each Tuesday following Berk’s, so be sure to follow along on Instagram (@OuiByYoplait).

If you need us, we’ll be re-watching all five seasons of Queer Eye to hold us over.
