By now, you’ve likely seen many DIY enthusiasts shaping taper candles into squiggles, knots, and all other sorts of designs on TikTok. If you want more ideas, design expert Bobby Berk shared an easy way you can elevate taper candles with a rolling pin and a few twists. The method even has Martha Stewart’s stamp of approval!

In a virtual chat on IGTV with Martha Stewart for the platform Create Cultivate and Madewell, Berk gave an easy DIY taper candle tutorial. Here's how it works: First, put the candles in hot water. Then lay them out on a flat surface and softly roll them with a rolling pin. “When you first start, do a little bit of pressure so that way you don’t flatten them too much,” Berk instructs in the video. After that, hold the candle upright and start twisting to get the final look.

The simple tweak to the otherwise regular candles adds some drama and makes them look way more expensive than they may actually be. To further up the design ante, Berk also suggested displaying a few in various colors.

After getting this little tutorial, Stewart was impressed. People in the comments were also all about this DIY and virtual chat between the two celebs. Even Berk’s Queer Eye co-star Karamo Brown wrote, “Work Bobby... why do I feel like I just watched Martha pass the Baton to you. This is my new favorite home duo!!!!”

TBH, this is also now my new favorite home duo. We love to see it!
