Bobbi Brown Is Launching a Line of Affordable Lip Products

As part of a strategy to woo Millennial beauty lovers, Bobbi Brown is rolling out a line of cheaper products.

The only thing that makes us happier than a good beauty bargain is when said bargain comes from a high-end brand — like, say, Bobbi Brown. With us? We've got some news you're going to love: Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is officially launching a lower-priced range of makeup.

After taking the no-makeup look to the next level with her beauty empire, Brown left her namesake label last year and passed the mascara wand to Sandra Main (who's also the global president of La Mer). After officially taking the reins in July, Main is already making exciting changes and wooing a younger audience with the launch of a lower priced line of lipstick. Meet Crushed Lip Color — a lipstick with the "feel of a balm."

At just $29, the line, which includes 20 alluring shades like the rich coral Cabana or the deep chocolate Blackberry, is about 17 percent cheaper than the average luxe lipstick, reports Women's Wear Daily. (Other Bobbi Brown lipsticks can run up to $37 a pop.)

But the news gets better for both your beauty bag and your wallet. Crushed Lip Color is just the first of three new budget-friendly product launches from the brand. According to WWD, two more lines will roll out over the next year, priced at 15 to 20 percent below the Bobbi products currently on the market. The affordable new products will include a "completion product" launching in January, as well as another lip item next fall. Here's hoping for an affordable highlighter and a new line of glosses.

This "Tier 0" pricing strategy part of an effort to make the brand more accessible to millennials. According to WWD, the average age of current Bobbi devotees is 38, but the brand is hoping the launch of more affordable lines will grab the attention of younger 20- and 30-somethings.

The second part of that millennial-friendly plan is partnering with influencers like Makeup Shayla. "We're taking the same values as Bobbi's — it was her, she was the influencer — and broadening that into multiple influencers," Main said in an interview with WWD.

And guess what that means? Product collaborations. Main said she'll be taking a page out of Becca's book and partnering with some awesome beauty influencers to create new products in the future. Might we possibly see a potential Bobbi Brown x Shayla collection in 2018? Fingers crossed.
