The 'Full House' star suddenly passed away in January 2022.

Kelly Rizzo, the wife of late comedian Bob Saget, is opening up about grief ahead of the anniversary of her husband's untimely death

It's been nearly one year since the beloved comedian was found dead in a Florida hotel room on January 9, 2022. He was 65.

His widow, 43, recently took to social media to reflect on her experience with grief over the past year and share some photos from her last Christmas with the Full House star, whom she married in 2018.

"Cherish every single moment," she told her followers in the heartbreaking Instagram post. "I certainly didn't think that our first Christmas together (in the same city) last year would be our last. (it was the first year he came to Chicago to spend Christmas with my family, along with my wonderful step-daughter [sic], Lara). I'm so glad we had that special time together."

Saget was a father to Lara, 33, as well as two other daughters, Aubrey, 35, and Jennifer, 30, all of whom he shared with ex-wife Sherri Kramer.

Rizzo also recalled Saget interacting with her two nieces last Christmas, noting that the How I Met Your Mother alum left a "lasting impression" on her entire family, as he did "with everyone he met."

"The holidays are a time for hope, love and togetherness," her emotional post continued. "I pray that if you're missing a loved one this holiday season, that you're blessed with many deep and loving memories and gratitude that will help carry you through."

"As I've said before, I'm just so grateful that I got to have that incredible man in my life and that I got to be in his for 6 years," Rizzo added. "There's no greater Christmas present than that."

"Sending love and prayers and wishes to you all. And I cannot thank you all enough for almost a full year of all the love and support and kindness from everyone. It means more than you know. I can only hope to show you how thankful I am and give it back a bit over time," she concluded.

As Parade previously reported, Saget was found in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida, after authorities received a call about an unresponsive man in his room.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, though it wasn't until weeks later that the official cause of death was revealed as an apparent head wound following what must have been a hard fall.

"It is my opinion that the death of Mr. Saget was the result of blunt head trauma," the medical examiner announced in February. "His injuries were most likely incurred from an unwitnessed fall. A toxicology analysis did not reveal any illicit drugs or toxins. The manner of death is accident."

The family confirmed the news shortly after Saget's passing, writing in part, "He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter," in an official statement at the time.
