Some Blueberry Yogurt Is Being Recalled Over Fears It Has Been Contaminated With Mold
The FDA announced this week that EVR Foods, INC, has issued a voluntary recall on certain batches of Lavva Blueberry Plant-Based Yogurt over potential mold contamination.
The recall specifically affects 5.3-ounce cartons of the plant-based yogurt in question with an expiration date of February 21, 2021. These yogurts also have a lot code of #022121 on the bottom of their plastic cup, which also represents the expiration date. No other Lavva products are affected by this recall. Though the brand clarified in the release that the affected yogurts had "cleared strict quality assurance protocols," a recall was issued after "recent testing indicates a potential mold contamination." There have been no reports of illnesses linked to this recall.
These yogurts, which are made with "the lowest carb, highest fat nut called the pili" were made in was produced in Norwich, NY, and then distributed to stores across the country. If you have one of these blueberry yogurts, be sure to check your fridge. If it happens to be in this specific size, with this specific expiration date, you are urged not to eat it. You can also return the yogurt to the place where you purchased it for a full refund.
