Homemade Blueberry Lemonade Is So RefreshingDavid Malosh

After a long, hot summer day in Oklahoma there's no better way to cool off than sipping on a refreshing glass of lemonade. I decided to mix it up this summer and added a bit of blueberry flair to my homemade lemonade recipe. Ladd and the other cowboys really appreciate when I make something like this and bring it out to them when they take breaks throughout the day. The best part is that it's so easy to make and only requires a few ingredients that you likely already have on hand! This version is made without alcohol, but if you’d like to turn it into a summer cocktail you can add 2 ounces of vodka or gin to each serving. Take this lemonade on a picnic in the park or to a 4th of July get-together, it's perfect to pair with any of my favorite summer recipes.

What are the ingredients in simple blueberry lemonade?
To make this simple homemade blueberry lemonade you don’t need a ton of ingredients. Fresh lemons are a must, followed by fresh blueberries and some sugar and water. This version is topped with some bottled sparkling water which gives it a nice effervescence and breaks up the tanginess of the lemons and sweetness of the blueberries. If you wanted to bump up the lemony flavor even more you could use a lemon-flavored seltzer water too!

Is blueberry lemonade healthy?
Any sugary drink should be consumed in moderation in my opinion, but if you’re going to have one it’s great to make it yourself. Plus, blueberries are full of antioxidants!

What should you serve blueberry lemonade with?

Blueberry lemonade is so delicious on it's own, but it tastes even better paired with food! I like to serve it with summer staples like hot dog or burger recipes. It's also great with potato salad, pasta salad, and all of these delicious summer side dish recipes.
