Blue Ivy Carter Just Received Her First BET Award Nomination at the Age of 8

Blue Ivy Carter is just 8 years old and she's already out here getting nominated for a BET Award due to being an absolute legend. According to Entertainment Tonight, Beyoncé and Jay-Z's oldest child was just nominated for her first BET Award for being featured on "Brown Skin Girl" by Beyoncé, Wizkid, and SAINt JHN—which is part of the The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack.

The track is nominated for the BET Her Award, along with some stiff competition. "Brown Skin Girl" is up against "Underdog" by Alicia Keys; "Melanin" by Ciara featuring Lupita Nyong'o, Ester Dean, City Girls and LaLa; "I Choose" by Layton Greene; "Tempo" by Lizzo featuring Missy Elliott; and "Afeni" by Rapsody featuring PJ Morton.

As E! News notes, this is hardly Blue's first award. She received a songwriting award for "Brown Skin Girl" at the 2019 Soul Train Music Awards, and took home a NAACP Image Award for the song in 2020.

The BET Awards will air on Sunday, June 28, at 8:00 p.m. ET on BET and CBS. Tune in to watch Blue win this thing.
