Blue to Green: Lee Launches Men’s Golf Apparel

Jeans are a fashion faux pas on the golf course, but that’s not stopping Lee from stepping onto the putting green.

Last week the heritage denim brand launched Lee Golf Series, a collection men’s golf tops and bottoms that utilize fabrics from its popular performance-stretch casual apparel. Building on these technologies, Jimmy Shafer, Lee’s senior VP, said the Golf Series offers a “combination of quality and value only Lee can deliver.”

Each piece is designed to appeal to golfers and golf aficionados alike, providing all day comfort and confidence, the brand stated.

The 5-pocket pant and flat front chino short are made wrinkle resistant performance stretch fabric with odor control and moisture-wicking properties to keep the wearer cool and feeling fresh. The bottoms also feature Lee’s motion flex waistband with an added benefit of shirt gripper technology.

A short-sleeve polo incorporates moisture-wicking performance stretch fabric and built-in UPF for added sun protection. The top come in an array of versatile neutrals and muted pop colors like peony and aqua sky.

The Golf Series is available now in 200 Walmart stores and on Lee.com and retails for $20-$48.

Whereas sister brand Wrangler has made inroads in outdoor apparel with its All-Terrain Gear collection, Lee sees opportunity in the estimated $5.4 billion global golf apparel market.

“Lee has always delivered innovation solutions that are built around our consumer’s needs. We’ve been selling technology infused casual apparel for years, and we know our customers love the versatility of our products across a wide range of wear occasions,” Shafer said. “The Lee Golf Series expands this foundation as we looked to build a curated assortment that combines great performance features for on the course in timeless styles that also deliver off the course.”
