'Blue Bloods' Fans Will be Excited to See a Famous Actress in the Trailer for the New Season

It's official: Blue Bloods is back!

After months of getting our Frank Reagan fix through reruns, a new season of the beloved crime drama will air in its usual Friday night time slot on December 4th. Ahead of the highly anticipated season 11 premiere, Blue Bloods released a sneak peek at the upcoming episode titled "Triumph Over Trauma."

Judging by the short clip, fans can expect to see all of their favorite Blue Bloods cast members back on the small screen this season. Frank (Tom Selleck) and the rest of his family will return, of course—and they'll be joined by a familiar face.

That's right, folks: Whoopi Goldberg is making another appearance this season! Blue Bloods fans will remember the actress for her recurring role as City Council Speaker Regina Thomas. We haven't seen Regina since season 8, but she and Frank will apparently go "head-to-head" in the upcoming episode as they try to maintain peace within their community.

This won't be the first time the pair has faced off, either. Regina is known for her outspoken personality and has previously voiced her opposition to some of Frank's more outdated policies. But, despite their differences, Regina has also been an ally to Frank when he needed it most.

Although the clip didn't offer many other details about the season premiere or Whoopi's role in it, there's clearly going to be a lot of drama.
