Blue Bell releases new flavor following “huge success” of Dr Pepper float
BRENHAM, Texas (WHNT) – Grab your chilled mugs! Blue Bell has released a new way to enjoy a classic summer treat.
The A&W Root Beer Float ice cream can be found in stores beginning Thursday, May 16. The new flavor is made up of vanilla ice cream swirled with an A&W Root Beer-flavored sherbert.

A&W is not the only flavor the creamery has turned into a float ice cream. In May of 2023, Blue Bell released Dr Pepper Float ice cream.
“We received many requests for an A&W Root Beer Float Ice Cream,” said John Neal
Robinson, Blue Bell general sales manager. “After the huge success of Dr Pepper Float Ice
Cream last year, we were ready to work together on another delicious flavor. We recommend
enjoying a few scoops in a chilled mug just like your favorite root beer.”
Root beer float lovers can find the flavor in half gallons and pint sizes through 2025.
