Netflix confirmed the news in a statement, sharing that Anna sadly died after recently suffering a stroke.

"It saddens our hearts to announce that Anna Shay, a loving mother, grandmother, charismatic star, and our brightest ray of sunshine, has passed away at the early age of 62 from a stroke," the company shared.
It continued, "Anna taught us many life lessons on how not to take life too seriously and to enjoy the finer things. Her impact on our lives will be forever missed but never forgotten."

Since news of her death was announced, several Bling Empire cast members have shared messages remembering Anna.

"RIP @annashay93 💔💔💔 you are truly one of a kind and we will miss you forever," Kelly Mi Li wrote on Instagram.
Kevin Kreider added, "You never know when your last goodbye will be. So unexpected and wished when I saw you last for lunch I would have taken a moment to smell the roses and had one last adventure with you."
Kim Lee also shared a note, writing, "I’m glad we got to cross paths. I cried and laughed with you and shared so much memories with you on screen. I loved your realness and humor and one thing u taught all of us is not to take life too serious. Anna Shay we love you Queen!! You will forever be missed."
Celebrity hairstylist Guy Tang shared a video of himself dancing with Anna, writing, "Gone too soon. You’ll be truly missed 💔 The best memories were all behind the scenes of #BlingEmpire when the cameras were off. We had the best times together."
Chèrie Cherie called Anna her "whole heart," sharing a sweet moment Anna had with her daughter. "I’m lost for words. If only the world knew how beautiful you are. 'Why does god take the best people from us?'"
The NFL will allow players to wear protective Guardian Caps during games beginning with the 2024 season. The caps were previously mandated for practices.
