Bleach TYBW Ichigo

Studio Pierrot and Tite Kubo shocked the anime world when it was announced that, after a decade of silence, Bleach’s final manga arc would be adapted into an anime.

Announced as a four season – called cours in Japanese TV parlance – run, Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War started airing in October 2022, ten years after the last episode of Bleach aired in Japan.

The second season of Thousand Year Blood War wrapped up almost two months ago, at the end of September 2023, and anyone who’s watched it will no doubt be hungry for more. So when will Bleach TYBW Season 3 be released?

When Will Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Season 3 Be Released?

TV Tokyo, Studio Pierrot, and Aniplex confirmed upon the announcement of Thousand Year Blood War that the series would run for four seasons, so thankfully season 3 is simply a matter of when, and not a matter of if. Viz Media is handling the release outside of Japan, and thankfully if you’re wanting to watch subbed it should air on the same day as it does in Japan.

Neither Viz nor TV Tokyo or Aniplex have announced when the next season of Bleach: TYWB will be released, but based on the timeframe between season 1 and season 2, we can make an educated guess that should be pretty close to what we actually see.

The first season of the anime started in October 2022 and ran until the end of December 2022. The second season picked up about 7 months later, in early July 2023, and finished up at the end of September of the same year.

With this in mind, Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War season 3 will likely start in May or June 2024, and run for approximately two months, finishing up in late July or August.

Where Can I Watch Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War?

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War is a bit of a weird one, because where you watch it will depend entirely on where you live… despite the two services it appears on being owned by the same company.

In any case, if you’re in the US, you’ll be able to watch Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War on Hulu, though that might change once Disney picks up the remaining third of the company from Comcast in early 2024 — watch this space.

If you’re outside of the US, except in Asia which has its own deal going on, new episodes of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War will be released weekly on Disney+. If past seasons are anything to go by, the English dub of the show won’t be too far behind the Japanese subtitled version.
