Blake Shelton Released a Shocking New Song and People Are So Upset

“Get Ready” people, because Blake Shelton just teamed up with a huge musician for yet another earth-rattling duet–and no, it’s not Gwen Stefani.

Blake has joined forces with Pitbull. You know what, we’ll just give you a minute to take that in.

Let’s continue. Mr. Worldwide and The Voice coach have released a pop sensation called “Get Ready,” and yes, it has a music video, too. At first, we were deeply confused. What is this? Who asked for this? What do these two possibly have in common? Did Blake just call him “Pit?”

Being the open-minded Blake fans that we are, we decided to give it a listen. And, like many, discovered that it’s actually pretty catchy?

Lots of listeners enjoyed it, and took to Twitter to let Blake and Pitbull know how much they’re loving this change of pace.

My personal favorite is this YouTube comment: "This ole Oklahoma grandma was up out of her chair. Jam!!!!!" You're too pure for this world, Sally!

There were a few people who couldn’t quite get on board, though. “Blake Shelton and Pitbull have collaborated on a country song so I’m never listening to new music again,” one person said. Another suggested Blake grow back his long hair that his girlfriend Gwen loves to poke fun at so that he can “find [his] roots” again.

But to them we say: Let Blake live! Everyone’s gotta shake things up now and again. Plus, part of the video was filmed at the guitar-shaped hotel so even if you don’t like the music at least there’s that.
