Blake Shelton is celebrating his stepson’s upcoming birthday by trading his usual country western style for a look that’s a little more retro and a lot more playful.

Over the weekend, Gwen Stefani took to her Instagram Stories to share a few behind-the-scenes moments of her youngest son’s birthday celebrations. While Apollo Rossdale doesn’t turn 10 until February 28, the No Doubt singer and Shelton donned their best disco-inspired looks for the pre-teen’s early birthday bash.

Getting Groovy

Stefani looked radiant with her icy blonde tresses situated in Farrah Fawcett-style curls. The musician also wore retro sunglasses, a ’70s floral print top, and a massive fur coat. Shelton played along with the theme as well, swapping his usual flannel and jeans for a Hawaiian shirt, oversized sunglasses, and a very large wig exploding with sandy-colored ringlets — see the photos HERE.

Atop a snap of herself and the birthday boy wearing his own curly wig, Stefani wrote, “Happy 10th b day apollo!!!” The Voice judge shares her youngest son, as well as elder sons Zuma, 15, and Kingston, 17, with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

Embracing His Untraditional Parenthood Journey

After more than five years of dating, Stefani and Shelton tied the knot in 2021. The “Honey Bee” singer has previously opened up about embracing his wife’s children though he has none of his own. In fact, Shelton decided to retire from The Voice after a 23-season run “to invest in” their family.

“You don’t know what your regrets are going to be until you look back one day,” he told People in December 2022. “I feel like my regrets would be, if I stayed on this path, that I am missing out on some more important things in life — and for now, that’s our kids.” The country star added, “I’ve accomplished more than anything I would ever imagine and made plenty of money, but you can’t buy time back. [Family] is what I want to invest in now.”
