  • Blake Shelton has become slightly less vocal on Twitter recently.

  • Blake told Country Now that his change of pace is the result of being called out by fellow celebrities, including Reba McEntire.

Have you noticed that Blake Shelton’s social media posting style has changed? Where the 44-year-old country music singer used to get quite colorful on Twitter, nowadays he keeps everything pretty PG. The reason? His fellow country music singers finally called him out.

Reba [McEntire]’s been hard on me,” he told Country Now in an interview. “The Diamond Rio guys have gotten onto me. The Oak Ridge Boys have talked to me about it.”

While he didn’t specifically lead on to which tweets his fellow stars took up issue with, he said it was enough to cause a change of pace. And his first step was taking Twitter off his phone entirely.

“I finally just took it off my phone,” he told the outlet. “Because, I mean, when you drink, you got s**t to say. [I just] took it off my phone. I can’t say it.”

He didn’t go further into what he couldn’t say, but his Twitter bio does state that fans should be prepared for a few messages from his team: "The Official Blake Shelton Twitter. You're getting the real BS straight from Blake himself. (And a few official updates from Team BS, too.)"

This isn’t the first time Blake has had to rethink his approach to social media. Back in 2016, Blake came under fire for resurfaced tweets, which he promptly deleted and apologized for at the time.
