Blake Lively Wore Giant '80s Curls to the Super Bowl

And an outfit fit for Sporty Spice.

The 2024 Super Bowl was without a doubt the most star-studded game in recent memory. There were the celebs we all expected to be there, like Taylor Swift, Usher, and Alix Earle. However, the star power didn’t stop there. Hailey Bieber, Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey, Victoria Monét, and Ice Spice were all also seen in the stands of the stadium. But it was one star that caught our attention more than the rest—thanks to the way she styled her hair.

While sitting next to Swift, Spice, and Lana in Swift's VIP suite, Blake Lively showed off a hairstyle that may just be her biggest ever. She wore huge, voluminous curls that cascaded down her shoulders. She paired her show-stopping hair with the perfect athletic-chic ensemble matching both team’s colors.

Though the actor is no stranger to a curl—she’s worn some variation of the swirly style to sit front row at fashion week and attend Swift’s Eras Tour, even wearing her curls in styles like a half ponytail and in a side part—we have truthfully never seen her in hair this curly. Extending to just under her chest as her hair usually does with the same deep blonde base and highlights, there was, from top to bottom, a uniform curl pattern, including every single strand. Without any frizz, her curls added at least a couple of inches of volume to her mane, expanding nearly as wide as her shoulders. Of course, also, with all the bounce you would expect from such a curly style.

Once we took our eyes off the ‘do, we also couldn’t help but obsess over the outfit. In a look many are comparing to Glee’s iconic Sue Sylvester, Lively came to the game in an oversized cherry red Adidas tracksuit—a genius play considering no matter which team won, she would be wearing their colors. 

Lively styled the tracksuit by draping one side off her shoulder and piling on the accessories. Sticking out from the side-draped jacket were two thick gold and silver chain necklaces that were almost tight enough to be a choker. However, it was her bangles that were the star of the show. Following the mixed metals trend, Lively stacked over a dozen chunky bangles across both of her arms, extending up her sleeve. Some silver, some gold, some both, her red sleeves tucked right underneath the bracelets, making for a dramatic silhouette.
