As we creep closer to Christmas, Blake Lively has decided to chuck the traditional red, green, gold, and silver of the holiday and mix things up with an Easter-ish mish-mash of pastels. Sometimes it really pays to not work with a stylist, because only Blake Lively could have come up with this outfit and be savvy enough to know she could absolutely pull it off.

Stepping out with family, Lively hit the streets in a blue turtleneck sweaterdress and matching blue cardigan (no, not the 1989 one) that features crochet details. The star paired the ensemble with a baby pink overcoat, light pink bejeweled socks, and lavender Manolo Blahnik Hangisi heels. If she were headed to a gender-reveal party, this would actually make so much sense (apparently she was on her way to NYC café Serendipity 3, which works too).

If you've been paying attention to the footwear trends of the past few years, you'll recall that some celebrities have begun dabbling in the controversial footwear trend that is socks and sandals. Wearing socks with pumps—in this case, some Carrie Bradshaw–approved Manolo pumps—is a derivative styling hack that Sarah Jessica Parker (Miss Bradshaw herself!) has championed for years.

The Betty Buzz founder has definitely been thinking pink lately, as she went head-to-toe fuchsia for an event with her fellow Sisters of the Traveling Pants. In fact, Lively, Alexis Bledel, and Amber Tamblyn all opted for shades of pink to support America Ferrera, star of Barbie.

Later, Lively posted a picture of the foursome in their comfy clothes and shared a sweet message about how much she loves Ferrera: “I was so happy to celebrate my denim sister @americaferrera She’s the heart and soul of @barbiethemovie because she’s the heart and soul of everything she’s a part of. I’ve known her for 20 years. Since I was 16, I’ve watched her live, grow, soar, fall, make, break, push, fight, win, create, forge, disrupt, way make, lead, lead, lead.” Like, yeah, that's why she's one of our Women of the Year!

Lively ended the missive with, “Pants = Love Love your sisters. Love yourself,” which went right to my millennial heart.
