Blake Lively Just Deleted Every Photo on Her Instagram Account—Here's Why

Blake Lively simultaneously broke our hearts and blew our minds on Monday evening when we discovered she’d deleted every photo on her Instagram account. Check the timestamp—this is no April Fool’s joke. EVERY. SINGLE. PHOTO. IS. GONE. Her profile now displays one cryptic line of text in place of her bio: “What happened to Emily? … ”

Despite the mysterious sweep, Lively still boasts 20.4 million followers on the platform. In return, however, Blake only follows 27 accounts, all of which belong to users named Emily Nelson.

So … what is this?! Did Blake get hacked by someone named Emily Nelson? Is Emily Nelson Blake’s social media-averse alter ego? Is Ryan Reynolds elaborately trolling his wife?

Before you start angrily tweeting at the Deadpool star, take a look at Blake’s IMDb page. Next up for the in-demand actress is a film called A Simple Favor, in which she plays a character named (you guessed it!) Emily Nelson.

The movie, based on a novel by Darcey Bell, stars Anna Kendrick as a mommy blogger looking for answers following the mysterious disappearance of her best friend (Lively). Directed by Bridesmaids’ Paul Feig and featuring an ensemble cast that includes Linda Cardellini, Crazy Rich Asians’ Henry Golding, and Girls’ Andrew Rannells, the film is sure to be a hit—but, um, do we have to wait for its release before Blake brings her Insta back?

According to IMDb, A Simple Favor comes out on September 14, which is an entire summer away. While we’re sure we *could* manage to live in a world without Blake’s chipper social media presence, who would want that?

We’ll see your movie, Blake, just come back to us.
