Blake Lively Dressed Up Like Deadpool for Ryan Reynolds’s Premiere

Blake Lively has been paying tribute to her husband Ryan Reynolds through fashion lately, and her latest instance is even more obvious than the rest. At the Met Gala, Lively casually held a clutch that read “Reynolds” with the initials of her husband and two daughters, and the next day she popped on a baseball cap branded with the logo for Aviation Gin, the company her husband owns.

Those first two instances may have been easy to miss, but on Monday night, her support of Reynolds was on full display at the premiere of Deadpool 2 in N.Y.C. While her husband ditched the red and black Deadpool uniform for a dressier Brunello Cucinelli suit, it was Lively who dressed up like the female version of Reynolds’s bad-mouthed character in a strapless black sequined Brandon Maxwell dress with a red sash tied around her waist.

The actress color-coordinated with a red lip, long black Lorraine Schwartz earrings, and a bedazzled clutch made to look like a cassette tape that read “Party Mix,” another nod to Reynolds’s titular character.

If her sartorial tribute to her husband didn’t speak loudly enough, the Deadpool star gushed about his wife, accepting the title “Mr. Lively” gladly. “Oh, I’m Mr. Lively 24/7,” he told ET. “And I’m happy about it. It’s great. [It’s the] best gig.”

Reynolds also said his wife “rocked” the Deadpool look, saying, “If she were Gwenpool I’d be wearing the Deadpool colors as well.” Can you imagine a sequel where Lively suits up in matching garb? Your move, Marvel.
