Blake Horstmann Spills Tea on All Those Gifts People Keep Giving on ’Bachelor in Paradise’

If you’re wondering how the cast of Bachelor in Paradise keep coming up with random, slightly questionable, gifts to give each other when they’re all trapped at a resort with no access to stores...turns out, they’re from producers. At least according to Blake Horstmann, who has been spending his time exposing behind-the-scenes Bachelor in Paradise details while watching the show. (His thoughts on CGI bugs right this way.)

Thus far in Bachelor in Paradise gift-giving, we’ve seen Demi present Kenny with a cake that ended up being thrown into a fire and engulfed in flames (still not over that), Karl give Deandra a random charm bracelet that he claims he got before joining the show, and Chasen attempting to one-up Karl by giving Deandra a necklace. Which, to quote Noah Erb:

Anyway, this just in from our dude Blake, who has some intel on the whole gift-giving process:

“Just to let you know how these gifts work. Producers bought all of these gifts before Paradise even starts, and then they kinda have them in like a box and they like give them out to people. So that’s how that worked. They saw an opportunity, and they were like go give a necklace.”

Iiiiiinteresting. However, Karl is out here insisting that he did, in fact, buy his own gift for Deandra. He even slid into the DMs of popular fan account @bachelornation.scoop and clarified, “I actually really bought my own gift from Miami. Still got the gift. Still got the receipt.”

In other words, IT’S COMPLICATED.

Anyway, TBD what other gifts producers have up their sleeves/in their box, but I need to know if contestants get to keep them.
