The “Blade Runner” Honest Trailer calls Harrison Ford out for being hella grumpy

Aside from anything Quentin Tarantino, there are few films self-proclaimed movie buffs love talking about more than Ridley Scott’s 1982 neo-noir sci-fi action film Blade Runner, starring Harrison Ford. In the middle of his turns as Han Solo and Indiana Jones, Ford took the time to star as broody Blade Runner Rick Deckard in the film and his performance has become the king of grumpy action-hero films.

With the highly anticipated sequel Blade Runner 2049 on the way — the latest in what seems to be Ford’s attempt to revisit his most iconic roles — Blade Runner got the Honest Trailers treatment and honestly, it might just capture Ford (and Deckard) as nobody ever has before.

Let’s face it, Rick Deckard is a bit of a curmudgeon in Blade Runner — but then again, Harrison Ford kind of is too, IRL.

The trailer takes a ton of shots at the film, from its numerous cuts and the overall slow pace.

Not to mention, how *literally* every other movie in the world loves to quote or reference it. But the best parts of the trailer are definitely the grumpy correlations it makes between Deckard and Harrison Ford.

“Now, watch him ditch the whole charming act in the grumpiest Harrison Ford performance since…any time he’s forced to promote a movie,” narrator says over voiceover, cutting to a GQ interview with Ford, where he seems a *little* grumpy — and that’s just one of many examples of Ford showing off his curt demeanor and dry humor.

And let’s face it, Indiana Jones and Han Solo have *definitely* become curmudgeonly with age, as exemplified in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and The Force Awakens.

We’ll find out exactly how much of a curmudgeon Rick Deckard has evolved into when he meets up with Ryan Gosling’s Officer K when Blade Runner 2049 comes out on Friday.
