‘Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth’ Is a Game Set Between the Original Film and ‘Blade Runner 2049’

Blade Runner is returning as a video game for the first time in 25 years. Developed by Annapurna Interactive, the new title is called Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth and takes place in a period of time following the events of the original film but prior to Blade Runner 2049.

After the Black Out, the video game is hinged on the question of “what does a Blade Runner do when there are no more Replicants left to hunt?”

A trailer previews an unnamed Blade Runner exploring an eerie environment dubbed the Land of the Dead, which is supposed to be a dystopian version of Los Angeles.

Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth is directed by Chelsea Hash, the game director of Annapurna Interactive. A release date for the game has yet to be announced.
