Blackpink’s Jisoo is a fashion chameleon, and there's really no way to pin down her style. She’s one to wear bejeweled looks on stage and has dabbled in the ballerina sleaze trend, but then offsets these trendier moments with a classic Audrey Hepburn-inspired 'fit. The songstress recently brought a moodier, "soft goth" edge to her style courtesy of black nail polish and dark waterline eyeliner.

On March 2, Jisoo shared a series of photos of her visit to Paris on her Instagram page. The carousel includes the typical "I'm in Paris!" photos, like an aerial shot of the Seine, a flaky pastry, and, of course, the Eiffel Tower lit up at dusk. Typically, tourists tend wear either berets or their best take on Jane Birkin's iconic style—Jisoo, however, turned the dial to soft goth with a black beanie, a leather Moto jacket layered over a cream hoodie, cuffed jeans, and a Dior purse and Chuck-inspired Dior sneakers.

Her outfit is the perfect blend of cute and edgy—and the same can be said for her glam. She wore her hair in touchable waves, sported black nail polish, and fully delved into the latest eyeliner trend: wearing black liner on her lower waterline.

If you can recall from your middle-school makeup routine, waterline eyeliner isn’t anything new, per se—but after years of falling by the wayside, TikTok revived the waterline liner technique in a way that’s pretty much a carbon copy of the liner we used to wear in the mid-to-late aughts. TikTokers have been wearing a thin line of pigment that circles the eye for a more snatched appearance and are even going so far as to wash their face after liner application to get a precise, thin line around the eyes.

Jisoo’s eyeliner, however, has a thicker rim around her eyes that extends slightly outside of her waterline to her lower lash line. It almost makes it look as though she’s wearing kohl eyeliner, which offers a true high-fashion, Taylor Momsen-esque feel. Still, despite her heavy liner, she maintains the soft part of “soft goth” with a wash of rosy lip color and feathery brows.

Jisoo proves that a soft goth glam is très chic enough to wear when shopping, having a drink with friends or cruising around the country where the phrase was invented.
