The Blacklist fans breathed a sigh of relief when Red (James Spader) and Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq) finally made up. But unfortunately, their next chapter is on hold — for now.

In the fall, the NBC drama returned with season 9 and folks wanted their questions about Liz (Megan Boone)’s death answered immediately. But instead, The Blacklist’s latest installment began with a two year flash-forward and it's been a slow process to discover what really happened that night. Now, it will be a little longer before Red, Dembe and the rest of the Task Force can get closer to finding out who shared Liz’s location.

After coming back with new episodes in early January, The Blacklist is on hiatus again. Fans tuning in on Thursday nights have noticed that there are no new episodes. “NO EPISODE THIS WEEK???” one person wrote on the show’s official Instagram. “Why is this week a rerun??” another added.

When is The Blacklist season 9 coming back?

The Blacklist will return to NBC with a new episode on Thursday, February 25 at 8 p.m. ET. According to the show’s website, The Blacklist will come back at the end of the month with season 9 episode 10 after the 2022 Winter Olympics wrap up.

So, what will happen next? Red will most definitely continue getting to the bottom of Liz’s death. Despite believing that it was Dembe’s fault for not realizing he was being followed when he met with her, Red was proven wrong. That leaves one question: Who tipped Liz’s location off to VanDyke (Lukas Hassel)?

Since season 1 debuted in September 2013, The Blacklist has had an average of 22 episodes per run. Aside from season 7 having 19 episodes (most likely because of the coronavirus pandemic), there is a high possibility that The Blacklist’s current season still has a dozen new episodes to air. In short, a lot can happen and we're ready for it.
