Marvel Comics is celebrating Natasha Romanoff’s legacy in a brand new series, Black Widow & Hawkeye. The four-issue limited series, written by Stephanie Phillips and Paolo Villanelli, will delve into the secretive pasts of the heroes. To celebrate the duo’s 60th anniversary, the comic will debut with a brand new variant cover by Stanley "Artgerm" Lau, which shows off Black Widow dressed in a vintage costume.

"I love getting the chance to dig deep with Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton to tell a fast-paced spy story that celebrates their 60th anniversary," said Phillips, "Nothing is as it seems, and I'm having a ton of fun writing these characters. Not to mention they both look great for 60."

Black Widow’s current state in the comics sees her being bonded to the symbiote, but the new cover confirms that we’ll also see her suiting up in the classic costume. In the new series, the symbiote-equipped Natasha must come to the aid of Clint Barton.

The series' authors were responsible for Marvel's Contest of Chaos and Captain Marvel: Dark Tempest storylines. Stanley "Artgerm" Lau is known for his contributions to variant covers for Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant #1, Fall of the House of X #1, Tiger Division #1 and many more comics.

Here is the official description of the new comic series:

THE EYES OF A HAWK AND THE VENOM OF A WIDOW! Even when Black Widow and Hawkeye had no one to trust, they still had each other—even though their paths sometimes diverged. So when Clint Barton is accused of a rogue assassination attempt that puts the U.S. and Madripoor at odds, a symbiote-equipped Natasha Romanoff thinks nothing of coming to his aid. But as echoes of their past ripple into the present, it will take all their faith in each other—and the lessons learned along the way—to protect their futures.

Black Widow & Hawkeye #1 goes on sale on March 13, 2024.
