'All black people look the same': 'The Hill' faces criticism for mistaking Condoleezza Rice for Susan Rice

Popular political publication The Hill can’t seem to get its politicians right, after seemingly mistaking Condoleezza Rice for Susan Rice in a story published on Monday.

When writing about President Obama’s former national security adviser possibly being interested in a Senate run against Maine’s Sen. Susan Collins, the online newspaper published a photo of President George W. Bush’s former secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, instead.

Michael Eaves seemed to be the first to catch the glaring mistake, which quickly caught the attention of people all over the internet. Soon, there were tons of other people commenting on the publication’s controversial mixup.

The New York Times made a similar mistake when a caption identifying Omarosa Manigault Newman appeared alongside a photo of Angela Basset in the print newspaper. The mixup occurred in the publication’s coverage of the Emmy Awards and resulted in a similar response.

Neither Condoleezza Rice nor Susan Rice has publicly addressed the most recent mixup. As for The Hill, the publication didn’t respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment. However, it did change the photo to one of Susan Rice almost immediately.
