Black Labrador Loyally Guards Missing 4-Year-Old Who Wandered Into the Woods
We don't deserve dogs.
A 4-year-old child in Buena Vista, Atlantic County wandered away from his home Wednesday evening, and thankfully, New Jersey State Police troopers were able to rescue him after finding him in the woods.
The most wonderful aspect of this story, besides the child being found safe and sound, was that the family dog never left the boys side. @AbcNews shared the following clip to TikTok of the dramatic and touching rescue.

When the trooper grabs the little boy, you can just see the relief on his face! That precious child was so worried because he lost his shoe. We also love how the dog immediately jumped up, clearly illustrating how protective he is of the boy. His mother said she could hear her son's cries for help but couldn't locate him. It's pretty amazing because we're sure the dog heard mom calling for her son, but he refused to leave the little boy alone.
"Dogs are angels. He definitely kept that boy safe and warm," comments @C. David. Another viewer added, "That dog took care of that little baby. Thank God he's okay!" "Dogs are the best angels in the world. He saved him and would not leave," added @Piper. @Norma commented, "I'm glad that the dog stayed with him."
This is not the first time a dog has stayed with a lost child. Just this February, another toddler went exploring and became lost, only to be found with the family rescue dog by his side. Thankfully, in both of these cases, the terrified children were both found safe and in good health, with their incredible dogs protecting them. We can't even imagine how thankful these families were to these brave and loyal dogs.
