With Thanksgiving behind us, Cyber Monday is here and deals are happening now. This means it's a great time to score some major discounts on video games and equipment. The Nintendo Switch is the oldest current-gen video game console on the block, but the Nintendo's home-portable hybrid is still going strong six years in. Whether you're a maestro of Mario or just looking to start digging into its vibrant game library, now is the time to buy if you find something on sale that you're looking for.
If you’re a veteran PS5 or Xbox deals shopper, it’s worth keeping in mind that prices work a little differently with the Switch. Though there are a few $70 games, much of the console’s catalog starts at $60, which is important to keep in mind when you assess the value of each sale. Still, you should expect to score some great deals on well-known games, especially those that are 6- to 18-months old.
Another thing you should know: Nintendo’s most desirable franchises like The Legend of Zelda and Mario rarely get serious price cuts. It's just one of those classic Nintendo things, like kid-friendly aesthetics and a bizarre approach to online features. If you're looking to score Nintendo’s big games like Tears of the Kingdom or Super Mario Bros. Wonder, you may want to keep your expectations in check.
We've scoured the web to find the best Nintendo Switch Cyber Monday deals this holiday season. We’ll be updating this piece throughout the week, so keep an eye out as deals will come and go every day once the holiday rush starts.
The Expert: I'm a reporter and critic who has covered video games for nearly a decade, with bylines at publications like Rolling Stone, GameSpot and Polygon, among many others. 2023 has been a wild year for games, and I can point you to the best sales out there this holiday season.
The Best Cyber Monday Nintendo Switch Console Deals
Switch OLED w/ Super Smash Bros Ultimate Bundle
Nintendo's big Black Friday special, which should be available at most retailers, pairs the newer Switch OLED and a copy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for $350. You’ll also get 3 months of Nintendo Switch Online. (You’ll need this subscription if you want square off with other Smash Bros. players online.) Nintendo’s Black Friday sales normally come in limited supply, so make sure you pick this up early.
Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle
This standard Switch bundle comes with three months of the platform’s online gaming subscription, Nintendo Switch Online, and a copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's fair to say that you'll get some weird looks from your friends if you invite them over for a Switch night, but you don't have Mario Kart, so you’re killing two birds with one stone.
The standard Switch OLED, no bundle strings attached, is the best version of the console yet. Its brighter, more responsive OLED screen brings the Switch’s best games to life with sharper lines and a pop of color. It’s slightly more expensive than the standard Switch hardware, but if you plan to carry the Switch around, the better screen is worth the splurge.
Switch OLED With Neon Red and Neon Blue Joy-Cons
If you’re buying a Switch, keep in mind that different bundles come with different colored Joy-Con controllers. Case in point, this version of the Nintendo Switch comes with the classic neon red and blue Joy-Cons, instead of the white ones on the original Switch OLED. Pick the colors that fit your vibe.
Switch Lite Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bundle
If you’re looking for a handheld-only Nintendo Switch Lite, this Animal Crossing-themed bundle is the way to go. Not only does it come with a copy of everyone’s casual life sim, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but the back of the teal console is covered in “New Leaf” logos! There's also a red Isabelle-themed alternative to this package, if you prefer her style.

The Legend Of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Looking at all the video games that have come out this year, 2023 has been one of the best years for games in recent memory. Still, many critics and players still think of this year’s Zelda sequel to be the best of the best.
Like its predecessors, Pikmin 4 is a soft strategy game where you cultivate and leverage the titular leafy guys to battle foes, explore alien landscapes, and triumph over a hostile planet. But this time… There’s a dog! Oatchi can carry Pikmin for you, while smashing through obstacles with his bulk. Nintendo’s strangest series has never been cuter.
Luigi's Mansion 3
Though it's technically a Mario game, chances are that this latest entry in Luigi's spooky sub-series is one of the best Switch games that you haven’t checked out yet. As Mario's cowardly brother, solve puzzles and capture ghosts as you explore a spooky haunted hotel. Beautifully animated, Luigi’s mansion is cute and creepy in equal measure, and worth a look if you missed it at launch.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Another (relatively) hidden gem, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is one of my favorite 2D platformers of the last decade. This chilly sequel adds Dixie, Cranky and Funky Kong back into the mix from Rare's DKC classics. Though this game might seem colorful and fun on the surface, make no mistake: It brings some stiff platforming challenges, even for well-heeled experts, especially in its formidable bonus stages.
One of Nintendo's wildest exclusives of all time is also one of its best. Bayonetta 3 continues the story of the titular gun-toting witch as she battles a mysterious evil in all sorts of hair-raising action. If you like technically precise character-action games like Devil May Cry, this is an absolute must-buy for your Switch.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Hardcore Nintendo fans may find it hard to believe that great Mario and Zelda games came out in the same calendar year, but 2023 is indeed an embarrassment of gaming riches. This mind-bending follow-up to the New Super Mario Bros. series places everyone's favorite red plumber in two dimensions like the old days, but with a wide array of new power-ups and form-bending levels. If you love classic Mario, this one's a no-brainer.
Metroid Prime Remastered
Nintendo has released some great remasters and remakes over the past few years, but Metroid Prime Remastered is my favorite. Often considered one of Nintendo's best games ever, this GameCube classic lets you see from the eyes of Samus Aran, fighting space pirates, seizing iconic powerups, and uncovering the twisted history of an alien planet. With improved graphics, control, and sound, this classic game feels like new on the Switch.
The Best Cyber Monday Nintendo Switch Accessory Deals
Switch Split Pad Pro
Let's be honest: while the Joy-Cons are great for gaming on the go, sometimes you want something a little more substantial. The Hori Split Pad Pro offers a meatier alternative, thanks to its larger form factor that's perfect for those with bigger hands, and analog sticks that are more responsive and hold up better over time. The grips are a monumental upgrade if you prefer to play in handheld mode.
Recon 50 Wired Gaming Headset
A good headset is also a must-have for any enterprising gamer, and the Turtle Beach Recon 50 offers a lot of value for a reasonable price. It’s a wired model, but that pairs perfectly with the console in handheld mode. With a decent mic and inline controls, it’s perfect for casual Switch gaming.
Arctis 7+ Wireless Gaming Headset
SteelSeries is a great choice if you’re shopping for wireless headsets on any console. The SteelSeries Arctis 7+ features great sound quality, reduced latency, an extremely clear mic, and durable construction. It also has 30 hours of battery life and supports 7.1 surround sound. If you want to go wireless, this is a great set of cans for a great price.
128GB MicroSD Card For Switch
Look, we'll level with you: there's nothing hot about buying a memory card for your video game console. We've come a long way from the days of swapping among four different color-coded memory cards on the original PlayStation, but you’ll want to buy a large microSD card for the Switch if you plan to download and hold on to a lot of games at once. With this deal, you can spend a little less on this technical upgrade and put a little more cash towards new games.
Q+A With Our Expert
What About The Switch 2!?
Scattered reports from the past year have suggested that Nintendo is in the process of getting ready to launch its next console, which may or may not be called the Nintendo Switch 2, in 2024. That said, Nintendo has not officially announced anything about the console, so it’s hard to suggest that you wait to buy a Switch or new games. It’s something to keep in mind, if you don’t own a Switch yet, but chances are it will be a hot ticket whenever it launches.
Do I need Nintendo Switch Online?
Nintendo Switch Online is an optional subscription service that enables you to play multiplayer games online and allows you to store and save data for your games in the cloud. It also gives you access to Nintendo’s libraries of classic NES and SNES games, which includes retro classics like Star Fox, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Super Mario World.
As a whole, if you like playing games online, we strongly recommend signing up for a subscription, which costs $20 per year. The good news is that many of our above deals include a few free months, so you can try the service out and see if it works for you.
If you love classic games, it’s also worth keeping in mind that there’s a premium tier, the Nintendo Switch Online “Expansion Pack,” which enables access to a wider range of games from the Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64, among others. It costs substantially more–$50 per year–but it may be right up your alley if you have a lot of love for the N64.
How do I clean my Switch screen?
Everyone has their own preferred way of cleaning their devices, but we recommend old reliable: use a lightly dampened microfiber cleaning cloth. It shouldn't be too wet. Personally, I like to do small circles, but any technique will work.
If your screen needs a really deep clean, Nintendo recommends using 70% rubbing alcohol, but I'd personally stick to water unless you really need it.
