Black Friday in Louisville 2023: What to know about local pop-up markets, mall hours

Black Friday may not be the one-day shopping frenzy it once was, but retailers big and small still look to the post-Thanksgiving Day retail event to help end the year on a sweet note.

Consumer spending is expected to grow by 3-4% over last holiday season — reaching nearly $967 billion — according to a forecast from The National Retail Federation.

That’s on par with the average annual increase of 3.6% seen between 2010 and 2019 but signals a slowdown from last holiday season's 5.4% sales growth.

Besides the big national retailers stocking their shelves with promotions and deals, there'll be a handful of time-limited markets opening on Black Friday in Louisville, leading into Small Business Saturday and the next four weeks before Christmas.

Brent Street Holiday Market

  • What: This free market at Paristown returns this year with 20 pop-up vendors from Louisville and the surrounding region offering specialty gifts and tasty treats

  • Where: At Paristown’s Fete de Noel, 731 Brent St.

  • What: Shop more than 30 vendors while enjoying seasonal foods and drink specials.
