Black Friday 2018: An Exhaustive List of the Best Kitchen Products to Buy Today

The big shopping event of the year is here! Black Friday deals started dropping as early as Monday for some retailers and there are excellent deals on popular kitchen products including the Instant Pot, KitchenAid stand mixers, and Vitamix blenders. The sale items will come and go with varying times and quantities, but we'll keep you updated. Sous Vide Gear

The Bluetooth-enabled ChefSteps Joule Sous Vide is $143 on Amazon ($35 off its original price), while the Anova sous vide is $99 ($100 off its original price). If you're a complete beginner at sous vide, go with the Joule, but if you have some experience under your belt, consider the Anova. (Read our side-by-side comparison here.) If you plan on cooking sous vide often, getting a vacuum sealer system (also on sale) is a good idea. Vacuum-sealing is the make-or-break-it step in sous vide—you could always use a heavy-duty freezer bag and seal it using the water immersion method, but the no-fail way is with a machine that does it for you.

KitchenAid Stand Mixers

While all KitchenAid stand mixers utilize the same planetary mixing action, the choice when buying tends to come down to picking which style, color, and size is best for you. If you're looking for a basic coffee maker that gets the job done, Black + Decker's 12-cup coffee maker is $10 at Target. If you want something more involved, Breville's Grind Control Coffee Maker is $29 off, coming in at $269. The two-in-one machine comes with a coffee grinder. If that's too much, the OXO On Barista Brain Coffee Maker $40 off for $160—we didn't test the Breville or the Black + Decker, but the OXO was one of our favorites in our drip coffee maker test.

Blenders

If you're going to buy a blender today, make it the Vitamix 5200, which is $300 on Amazon. It's the original Vitamix blender and quite frankly, we've never seen it at a price this low.

Santoku Knives

A santoku is a Japanese-style knife. Its name translates to "three uses," which refers to the knife's superior ability to slice, dice, and mince. To be used as you would a chef’s knife, this Zwilling option is extremely sharp and versatile.

Staub Cocottes

Take it from Nik Sharma, who loves these cast-iron cocottes, that they're a worthy investment. He uses his to deep fry food in small batches, make a pot of soup or stew, cook rice, and more. They even withstand temperatures up to 900 degrees.

Nordic Ware Sheet Pans

Not a crazy discount, but still worth it considering how these are our favorite sheets pans and an essential tool to have. Like other bare aluminum sheet trays, it conducts heat efficiently, which means food cooks evenly and the pan itself warms up and cools down quickly. Its light color makes it less likely to produce too-dark cookies or cakes, yet its thickness and sturdiness can turn out crispy, well-risen crusts. Wins all around!
