Bite Beauty's Latest Astrology-Themed Lipstick Is a Party Pink for Sagittarius

UPDATE (November 20, 2018): Some people call this holiday season, some people call this Sagittarius season (mostly just Sagittariuses), but we can all abide the word of Wayne and call it "party time, excellent." Good thing that Bite Beauty is releasing its latest Astrology Lipstick in honor of the arrow-flinging fire sign right on schedule for all those holiday parties in the coming month.

This zodiac's lipstick shade is pink, but not just a forgettable, pretty-in-pink hue — it's a hot, bold, come on Barbie, let's go party, pink. It's the kind of pink an attention-seeking fire sign would wear who marches to the beat of their own drum.

The adventurous Sagittarius can accessorize their wanderlust and knowledge-lust with the bold lip color starting November 23 at Sephora and on Bite Beauty's website, and just like its predecessors, it'll be $26.

If you want to pre-order, you can do so now on bitebeauty.com.

UPDATE (October 11, 2018): Scorpios tend to have a reputation to be the nymphomaniacs of the zodiac, and despite all their alleged intensity and seductive aura of mystery (sometimes mystery is the allure all its own), these water signs will ice you tout suite if you cannot hang with their intellectual inclinations. Not saying it's about who's smarter than who, just keep in mind — the brain is the largest sex organ, ya know?

Anyway, this is supposed to be about lipstick. Bite Beauty's latest astrology lipstick is for Scorpio and it's a bright, poppy orange-red (surprise, surprise) — a little hat-tip to Mars, the fiery planet which rules this sign. Not for nothing, it's just a really good poppy red in general. So I may not be a Scorpio, but I would very much like to swipe this shade on and just wear the lips of a Scorpio for a night out. Fun, no?

This limited-edition shade drops October 23 on Bitebeauty.com and Sephora.com. But you can pre-order on Bite's website starting October 19. Go on, then.

UPDATE: (September 21, 2018): Even though technically tomorrow is the first day of fall, the weather still can't seem to make up its mind. Fitting that the first day of fall also coincides with the first day of Libra season. The air sign, represented by the scale symbol, is the balance beam of the zodiac, the perpetual mediator, and sometimes the devil's advocate.

Bite Beauty has chosen to lipstick-ize the Libra with its latest Astrology lipstick — a "balanced brown." It could be dramatic if your skin is on the pale-complected side, or it could be a basic nude if your skin tone falls in the tan-to-deep range, but either way, it doesn't designate itself as a daytime or nighttime shade. Like I said, very this-or-that, just like a Libra.

The limited-edition Astrology By Bite Amuse Bouche Libra Lipstick drops on Bitebeauty.com and Sephora.com on September 23 for $26, but you can preorder today on Bite Beauty's website.

UPDATE (August 20, 2018): There may be only a couple weeks of summer left, and the blazing sun is finally simmering down. While we're all trying to get the most of our remaining Summer Fridays, all the Virgos are patiently waiting in the wings to breeze into the fall. These earth signs are known to be the fastidious big sis-types (they're basically the Margot Coveys of the zodiac, if you've watched To All The Boys I've Loved Before on Netflix this weekend) — always on time if not early, always the one with the itinerary, and always the one to ask advice on where to find the best...anything, actually. Perfectionists to a fault, don't bring your B game to a Virgo's house unless your ego can handle an itemized checklist of all the ways you could've leveled-up, which you'd be mad at if you didn't secretly agree with them. That said, if you're going to hire a personal assistant, make it a Virgo. If you're going to list anyone as an emergency contact, make it a Virgo.

It should come to no one's surprise then that Bite Beauty's latest Astrology By Bite Amuse Bouche Lipstick for Virgo would be the most perfect berry-red shade for fall — the kind of rich jewel-toned red that looks good on everyone (not too pink or violet-toned and not too warm either) and goes with any beauty look.

The humble Virgo would just say, "Oh this old thing?" when complimented on their lipstick shade, even though they know that they've systematically compared it to all similar berry-hued reds and narrowed it down as the most versatile and flattering one.

And now you can too. The gorgeous limited-edition Astrology By Bite Amuse Bouche Virgo Lipstick is $26 and available for pre-order on bitebeauty.com now, and you'll be able to snatch one up on sephora.com starting August 23.

So far, Bite Beauty's astrology lipsticks have been selling out pretty quickly, and if you want to impress a Virgo, I'd suggest you get on that pre-order list, STAT. I don't need to remind Virgos of that list because they're probably already on it.

UPDATE (July 19, 2018):

Here we are again, days before a cosmic turnover. The month of Cancer may unfortunately be ending as Mercury goes retrograde, but that won't slow down Leo season, which will be coming in with a golden bang in the form of Bite's newest astrology lipstick. Leos are fire signs (and summer babies) and most certainly live up to the element. Drama? Bring it. They thrive as the center of attention, but they're always down to show you just as much love and praise as you do for them (so you'd best do so). Not for nothing, no one takes a compliment like a Leo, that's for sure. They live life boldly and take no prisoners.

This glittery gold lipstick for Leo makes complete sense when you take that into consideration. It's the J.Lo of lipsticks (who also happens to be a Leo, so I hope she gets her hands on one of these).

At $26 a tube, this limited-edition Leo lipstick is available for pre-order today on bitebeauty.com and it'll officially deploy on July 23, also on bitebeauty.com as well as sephora.com. These astrology lipsticks tend to sell out quickly and once they're gone, they are not coming back around, so don't miss out on this gilded creation.

UPDATE (June 18, 2018): The first day of summer is nigh, as we are about to enter the soothing, nurturing, and romantic month of Cancer. And what is more romantic than a nicely understated nude? Bite Beauty's Astrology lipstick for Cancers is just that — the brand calls it a "safe-but-sexy nude," which if you ask me (a Cancer), there ain't nothing safe about nude lipstick because you never know how it's going to look until you swipe it on. The suspense...

People seem to really like nude lipstick though, so perhaps the error is on me. I'm not going to say this one appears "universally flattering" but I am going to say that it's a warm pinky-nude that doesn't appear intimidating at all. What does that have to do with Cancers? Perhaps it's the tranquil and non-threatening presence, and its ability to make your lips look nice in a your-lips-but-better way. No showy business here. Just like a Cancer. We just want to support and take care of you. We want you to look great, but not for any personal credit, just because it's in our mothering nature.

That said, never cross a Cancer. We won't retaliate in any super-confrontational way, but we will 100 percent sabotage you in subtle and unique ways if you betray us. Kind of like the wrong nude lipstick.

Bite Beauty's Cancer-sign Astrology Lipstick hits digital shelves June 21 at bitebeauty.com and sephora.com for $26, and like its predecessors, is likely to sell out soon, so get click-happy.

UPDATE (MAY 18, 2018): Geminis may have a reputation for duality, and Bite Beauty is leaning pretty hard on that with its latest Astrology lipstick. The Gemini tube has a dual-colored bullet — one side is red and the other a warm nude. I mean, if Bite Beauty really wanted to do a literal Gemini lipstick, they could've done two minis (because Gemini are twins, get it?), but alas, no. If you happen to be a twin and a Gemini, maybe you can...share this one? The only Gemini twins I know of are Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (they seem like they'd be into this color-scheme) and it's entirely possible that they share lipstick. But they're also super rich, so I imagine they'd just each get their own tube.

According to the brand, this lipstick is suited perfectly for the textbook Gemini: "Gemini is an air sign, ruled by the planet of communication, Mercury. Gemini — represented by twins — embraces duality and is all about having fun. Gemini thrives on change and can’t stand too much sameness. Those born under this sign are social butterflies, youthful and playful."

This limited-edition Amuse Bouche Lipstick gets released into the wild on May 21 (the first day of Gemini season, duh) on sephora.com and bitebeauty.com for $26. Like its predecessors, these zodiac-themed lipsticks do tend to sell out tout suite, so if you're a Gemini, maybe now isn't the best time for your cosmic indecisiveness. (Just kidding. Sort of.)

UPDATE (APRIL 18, 2018): Well, well, well, Aries, looks like your time is nigh and Taurus season is upon us imminently. And with it comes Bite Beauty's Astrology lipstick shade for Taurus. Now, these zodiac lipsticks tend to sell out fast and they're limited-edition, so once they're gone, they're gone-zo.

The Taurus shade is a described as a "muted white-chocolate rose." Says astrologer Tara Greene (who Bite Beauty worked with to develop these lipsticks) of the sign: "Taurus is an earth sign, ruled by the planet of love, Venus. Sleepy, sensual Taurus is enamored with everyday luxuries: Flowers, chocolate, and all the finer things in life are essential to beauty-loving bulls. Find them running a florist shop, decorating and re-decorating their stylish abodes, or whipping up a delish new dish."

OK, so my moon sign is a Taurus and, sure, I like nice things, I like luxury, and I'm stubborn as hell (but also a ride-or-die friend, so take what you will). I also love napping and decorating my nest but hell no to cooking. Can't win 'em all, I guess.

But this is about lipstick. And this one is a nice take on an Earth sign — nude but blushy. OK, Taurus. Astrology by Bite Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Taurus will be available April 20, setting you back $26 bones at Sephora.com and it's first come, first swiped so don't dawdle, Taurus.

UPDATE (March 19, 2018): Pisces month is just about coming to a close, and we may have slept on that Bite Beauty lipstick shade (oops). ICYMI, it was a muted peach shade — unexpected but still dreamy and soft, much like the pensive water sign. However, with the spring equinox right around the corner, that means it's...Aries season. If you weren't aware that it was about to be Aries season, an Aries will be sure to tell you soon... and muchly.

I like to think I'm a reasonable person, but as a Cancer, I feel that I've been personally victimized by too many Aries to just be OK with them. That said, I will attempt to place my cosmic contempt aside and report on Bite Beauty's newest upcoming Astrology lipstick shade stupid Aries.

This is what it looks like:

Bite Beauty
Bite Beauty

Of course, it's a fiery orange-red.

Of course, I was immediately drawn to it and went Oooooh when I saw it.

Of course, I know this will probably sell out just as quickly as the Aquarius and Pisces lipsticks did (in two days), if not quicker.

Fear not. Soon, you will be able to color your lips this red-hot shade of "arrogant bastard" (cosmically speaking). The limited-edition Aries lipstick will be available exclusively on Sephora.com starting March 21, while supplies last. It will cost $26. And you know what, I hope all the Aries out there throw $26 at this lipstick so they have less time and resource to ruin the lives of the real heros and martyrs of the astrology, us Cancers. (Prove me wrong, benevolent Aries out there. Prove. Me. Wrong.)

Signed,

a Cancer

This post originally appeared January 22, 2018:

Whether you buy into the power of your horoscope or not, astrology is having a major moment in beauty — think: organizing your beauty routine based on your sign and zodiac-inspired collections. Bite Beauty is the latest to align with the stars. Get ready for astrology lipsticks.

The lipstick savants at Bite Beauty just announced the release of Astrology by Bite, an "ultra limited-edition" collection of starry shades at Sephora. Each month, you'll be able to get your hands on a new, exclusive shade of the brand's award-winning Amuse Bouche lipstick — beloved for its bold, highly pigmented, antioxidant shades — inspired by each sign on the astrological calendar.

The first of 12 shades to launch is Aquarius, an air sign ruled by the planet Uranus, with a rep for being home to unique, inventive, and cutting-edge leaders. In lipstick terms, that translates to a punchy berry shade destined to be an attention-grabber.

To create shades as individual as each star sign, Bite consulted with astrologist Tara Greene, a psychic astrologer, tarot, tea, and lipstick reader (coolest job ever? Yes!). The following 11 signs will drop throughout the year, but according to a press release from Bite, we can expect things like a Gemini shade worthy of a double take (See what they did there?), Leo will get a bold, queen-of-the-jungle-inspired hue, and so on.

Aquarius ($26) is already sold out at Sephora. Hopefully, the stars will align with a restock.
