According to Lil Uzi Vert’s standards, he’s an old man now (the rapper tweeted two years ago that anyone who is 25 years or older is officially old), and he’s starting to settle into the next phase of his life in appropriately advanced style. Judging off his Instagram, Uzi is traveling somewhere on a private jet for his big day, and instead of reaching for the standard Louis Vuitton luggage sets that most celebrities are rarely seen without, Uzi opted for something a bit more niche: a black and blue Goyard set in the brand’s signature chevron pattern.
Goyard predates Louis Vuitton by one year (it officially started in Paris in 1853) and it’s a luxury brand rooted in royalty: Maison Morel, its founder, was the purveyor of The Duchess of Berry, an Italian princess, and he fabricated (and packed) her trunks. Now, though, the brand boasts an elite celebrity clientele including the likes of Kanye West, Madonna, and last but not least, Lil Uzi. With his luxurious birthday set, Uzi is a modern day prince.
