These comfy Birkenstock sandals are summer's go-to shoe — get 'em before they sell out

Birkenstock has a track record for trends. Last year, it was all about the brand's Boston clog, which went viral on TikTok as fall's 'It' shoe. Even Vogue France published an homage to Birks from all walks of life, including last summer's ubiquitous EVA slides. And if they're in Vogue, you know they're in vogue. But Birkenstock Kyoto sandals are something a bit different.
This cool Kyoto is kind of like the open-toe, single-strap cousin of Bostons and Birkenstock's classic Arizona sandal. Its velcro-tightened strap is secure enough that you don't even need an ankle strap for stability. In black, it's even chic enough for an evening outfit. And as all Birkenstocks are, it's comfy as can be.
Birkenstock Kyoto sandals debuted last year, but it's only this year that they're generating major buzz. And once actress Hilary Duff was spotted sporting a pair while running errands, the deal was sealed: Kyotos are officially on the map.
