Wells Adams

Bachelor in Paradise bartender Wells Adams is stirring up ideas for a senior version of his beachy hit ABC spinoff.

With the success of Gerry Turner’s The Golden Bachelor, Wells is all in on having a show with senior contestants someday, he told Parade in a 1:1 interview.

But his plan doesn’t involve senior sex on the beach in Mexico, like the regular version of BIP, now in its 9th season. Wells, 39, has more suitable locations in mind.

“I have a vision of what The Golden Bachelor in Paradise needs to look like,” he told Parade. “It needs to happen in Florida or in Scottsdale (Arizona) or in Palm Springs (California). It needs to be way too hot. We need to be filming it there, preferably in an older age home or a La Quinta [resort] situation where everyone needs to be riding around in golf carts.”

While young BIP hotties lounge at the beach, the pool or around his bar, Wells said with a senior edition, “We need to be having one-on-one dates at a shuffle board court. We’d have two-on-ones or group dates at the bingo. The bingo [winner] gets more time with whoever is hosting the date.”

With Gerry, 72, warming fans' hearts on The Golden Bachelor, could Wells’ tongue-in-cheek ideas become a reality?

The humorous hunk, who is married to actress Sarah Hyland, added, “I think there needs to be some sort of paddle board tournament that has a lot of weight or stakes to it. I need to be there of course making drinks. There needs to be a regular bar but I also need to have Mylanta and Tums just in case for the cast. And I feel very strongly about this—every romantic dinner needs to start with the sun still up, be an early bird special at 4:30 in the afternoon at Golden Corral. If you don’t get a rose, you have to leave in a golf cart.”

Wells, who has been dispensing advice and jokes as well as booze to beachgoers on Paradise since the show’s fourth season, has even thought of suitable drinks for the older set.

“I like to think that the seniors are a little bit more sophisticated so I think I’d be making a lot more martinis, maybe some old-fashioneds, some Manhattans. Maybe some scotch neat (straight up). I can see that being a drink I’d make a lot and probably a lot of coffee” to keep the seniors “up for the rose ceremony,” Wells said.

But all kidding aside, a Golden Bachelorette would have to come before any senior Paradise spinoff so there would be castoff older guys available. And there's no indication that a senior lady reality show is happening—at least not yet.

Meanwhile, Gerry continues to eliminate ladies on the Golden Bachelor, airing Thursday nights before Bachelor in Paradise on ABC.
