The Irwin family celebrated 'The Crocodile Hunter' with heartfelt tributes on social media.

On what would have been Steve Irwin's birthday, his children, Bindi and Robert, and widow Terri honored "The Crocodile Hunter" and his life with a wave of endearing photos and tear-jerking messages.

The Irwin family fondly recalled their favorite memories of the legendary zookeeper and shared a few of their favorite photos of Steve to celebrate his 61st birthday and the impact he had on those close to him (as well as the strangers who followed his adventures around the world).

"Happy Birthday, Dad. Thank you for instilling a love for all species, courage to follow my heart and determination to make a difference in the world for wildlife and wild places," Steve's 24-year-old daughter Bindi gushed on Instagram. "Your legacy lives on and the world is forever changed because of your dedication to conservation. Mum, Robert and I love and miss you so much."

Along with the sweet sentiment, Bindi attached an adorable throwback photo of herself as a child, bonding with her dad over what appeared to be a gecko or some other sort of lizard.

Steve's 19-year-old son Robert later took to social media to wish his late father a happy birthday, simply tweeting "Happy birthday, Dad" alongside an adorable photo of The Crocodile Hunter cradling his newborn son as a tiny Bindi peeps through the corner of the shot.

Terri also cherished the memory of her late husband, sharing three beautiful family photos showing how much life has changed since Steve's tragic passing.

"Happy birthday, Steve. You did good," the 58-year-old conservationist captioned the post, which included a throwback photo of the full Irwin family as well as a snap of the couple's two kids, now adults, and an updated shot of the Irwin group–which has grown to include Bindi's husband, Chandler Powell, and their daughter, Grace.

For those who may not remember, the doting father and TV personality suddenly passed away after being stabbed by a sting ray while snorkeling in the waters of his home country, Australia, on Sept. 4, 2006.

Since his death, his family has remained dedicated to Steve's passion for wildlife, and continued his efforts of "conservation through education" with their work at the Australia Zoo.
