Bindi Irwin Thanks Fans for Support During Recent Health Struggles

The Australian zookeeper recently shared a photo from a hospital bed to reveal that she has been diagnosed with endometriosis.
Bindi Irwin is giving her fans an update on her health one week after opening up about a recent diagnosis.
Last week, the Crikey! It's the Irwins alum revealed via social media that she has been diagnosed with endometriosis—a condition of the uterus that can cause pain, infertility and more severe health complications.
In a follow-up post uploaded to Instagram on Tuesday, March 14, the 24-year-old zookeeper took a moment to thank her fans for all of the support she's received since opening up publicly about her condition.
"Healing ✨" she captioned a photo of herself laying in bed holding a big bouquet of red roses. "I have spent the week reading your kind words and stories of strength through your own experiences with endometriosis. Thank you with all my heart for sharing. I can finally see a new me on the journey towards better health."

Irwin explained in her initial post that she recently underwent surgery for endometriosis after over 10 years of dealing with agonizing and undiagnosed pain. She described herself as being "on the road to recovery" now since having the procedure done.
"I can’t wait to be able to focus all my energy on our family and the conservation work we are so passionate about," she added in the new post. "Sending my love and light your way."
Irwin—who shares 23-month old daughter Grace Warrior with husband Chandler Powell—also made a point in her first post about her endometriosis battle to spread awareness of the disease, which millions of other women are also struggling with.
"Please be gentle & pause before asking me (or any woman) when we'll be having more children," she advised her followers. "After all that my body has gone through, I feel tremendously grateful that we have our gorgeous daughter. She feels like our family's miracle."

"There's stigma around this awful disease," she added. "I'm sharing my story for anyone who reads this & is quietly dealing with pain & no answers. Let this be your validation that your pain is real & your deserve help. Keep searching for answers."
She also included a link to the website for the Endometriosis Foundation of America, to give her followers the opportunity to educate themselves on the disease.
