Bindi Irwin Shared Photos of Her 'Extraordinary' Wedding Gift From an A-List Celeb — But Daughter Grace Is Stealing the Spotlight

When Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell got married in the Australia Zoo in March 2020, they received something pretty incredible from an A-list celebrity friend. The wildlife conservationist is reflecting on that gift in a new Instagram post — but we can’t help noticing how big their 2.5-year-old daughter Grace has gotten!
Irwin shared that her friend Russell Crowe (!!) gifted her and Powell with a fig tree prior to their wedding in 2019.

“2019 vs 2023,” she captioned the post. “The most thoughtful wedding gift from our dear friend @russellcrowe. This gorgeous fig will be part of our entire lifetime. Truly extraordinary.”
How cool is that? A wedding gift from the Russell Crowe that is so thoughtful and beautiful? We think that’s pretty extraordinary too!

In the first photo, a young Powell and Bindi stand in front of the fig tree, which is in a pot and tied with a white ribbon. They smile next to it, with no idea how much they (and the tree!) will grow in the next few years. Slide to see the amazing growth!
In the next photo, the tree is planted and has absolutely flourished in the Australia sunshine. It now towers overhead, and Irwin and Powell crouch down underneath its shared with their daughter Grace in between. The toddler is dressed in a blue-and-white floral dress with matching blue shoes. Irwin wears coordinating blue jeans and a blue-and-green plaid shirt, and Powell is dressed in a blue button-down with khaki shorts for the sweet family photo. The sky is bright, the sun is shining behind them, and it is such a beautiful picture.
In the last photo, Grace is sitting on her mom’s lap, holding her hand with one hand and clutching animal toys in the other. Her long brown hair is tied up in a ponytail, and she looks all grown up! I swear we’re going to blink, and this baby will start kindergarten.

Last month, the Crikey! It’s the Irwins star shared that she looks forward to her daily “family zoo walk.” “No matter what has happened during the day, whether it’s a really fun and exciting day, or it’s a more challenging day, I really look forward to that time where I know I’m going to be with my family, I know that I’m going to turn off my phone, and I just enjoy the time and really try to let everything else go and be completely present,” she told SheKnows.
“Because sometimes we forget to do that because life is such a whirlwind,” she added. “So if you can find that time to be utterly present with your family it really helps feed your soul. It’s just good for your heart. I love that time.”
