Bindi Irwin Gives Update on Her 'Gorgeous' Wedding Gift From Russell Crowe

Bindi Irwin is looking back on an incredibly generous wedding gift from family friend Russell Crowe.
When Irwin married her husband Chandler Powell in 2020, the New Zealand-born actor sent the wildlife warriors a fig sapling—and today, it's already shaping up to be an impressive addition to their landscape.
It arrived in a large pot with a white ribbon wrapped around its trunk, as evidenced in the first picture Bindi posted on Instagram on Oct. 23, 2023, showing her and Powell smiling proudly next to the tree.
In the next two photos, the happy couple posed with their 2-year-old daughter underneath the fig, which has grown at least a couple of feet and has been planted presumably in their own yard. The parents each braced themselves against the trunk, Grace Warrior sitting on Bindi's bent knee.
"2019 vs 2023," she wrote in the caption, giving a before and after glimpse at the heartfelt gift. "The most thoughtful wedding gift from our dear friend @russellcrowe. This gorgeous fig will be part of our entire lifetime. Truly extraordinary."
Fans were in awe of the gesture, with one dubbing it "the perfect gift!"
Many shared sweet stories about their own family trees, too.
"I bought a willow tree sapling for us for our first year wedding anniversary and love that we will watch it grow with our marriage 😍," one wrote.
"We were gifted a fig after we lost our 2yo son. It’s thriving. Survived a flood and everything 🙌," another shared.
"Aww beautiful family you have Bindi, it will be so wonderful to watch your tree grow. ♥️♥️," someone else commented.
"I love this! ❤️," Rorie Buckley, Bindi's brother Robert Irwin's girlfriend, wrote, too.
Bindi and Powell were married on March 25, 2020, and welcomed their first daughter exactly one year later.
