Bindi Irwin’s Daughter Grace Teaches Her ‘Bunny’ How to Play Pretend in an Adorable Resurfaced Photo

Playing pretend is important business, and Bindi Irwin’s daughter Grace Warrior is an expert. Bindi’s mom Terri Irwin recently uncovered an old photo of her and Grace playing together, and the toddler is beyond cute!

Grace, who calls her grandma “Bunny,” was just 1 in the photo recently shared by Terri. “One year ago. Life’s sweetest moments. ❤️” the Australia Zoo conservationist captioned the sweet throwback picture.

In it, Grace is wearing a warm pink sweater over animal-print leggings as she plays with Terri in the living room of what looks to be Terri’s house. The wife of the late Steve Irwin sits on the floor in jeans and a navy-blue sweater, fully enraptured in everything Grace is saying to her. Grace has a little toy plate in one hand and is pressing a matching plate into her Bunny’s hand, touching the middle of the plate with her thumb. Maybe she’s telling her that’s where a teacup goes, or maybe she’s having her pretend there’s a biscuit or another snack on the plate. Either way, Grace is taking their playing session very seriously, and it’ll melt your heart.

Bindi commented on the photo, “Loves her Bunny ❤️.” It’s so evident!

“What a very sweet memory 🥰,” someone else said.

“Grandkids bring such joy!! You are so blessed to be around her every day, 😘” another person wrote.

Earlier this week, Terri shared a photo of Grace from this year — and she looks so grown now! The little girl has curly brown hair and a smile that’s a spitting image of her mama’s. She was wearing a t-shirt that says “The khaki is a part of me” and holding her arms above her heads in the picture of strength.

“My New Year’s resolution is to spend even more time with this precious tiny human,❤️” Terri wrote. Their relationship will make you cry!

Playtime has always been important to the Irwin family, which includes Terri and Steve’s son Robert.

“We were kind of this wild family,” Bindi told SheKnows in September 2023. “I grew up within Australia Zoo, so my home and my backyard is a sanctuary filled with wildlife. Growing up, we traveled a lot for our conservation work as well, and no matter where we were or what we were doing, we would always have playtime together as a family.”

“It was so incredibly special that they always set aside time to just have fun,” she said about her parents, adding that she was “pretty much never indoors.”

“I was always running around in the creek or running around with animals or climbing a tree,” she continued. “Honestly, looking back, I now really revel in the fact that I was so lucky to be able to have that childhood. I feel very, very blessed that I got that time with my family to run around as a wild child. And it was so much fun!”

And now Grace gets to create her own memories as a wild child in the Australia Zoo because life has come full circle. It’s so beautiful!
