Happiness can’t always be captured on camera. Those moments filled with belly-bursting laughter that you share with your kids or inside jokes that you couldn’t begin to explain to anyone else — it’s what makes motherhood so special! But if you’re lucky, someone will snap a picture at the perfect time to capture a moment of joy on your child’s face. That recently happened for Bindi Irwin, as her mom Terri Irwin shared the loveliest family picture with 2-year-old Grace Warrior, and we just know Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell will cherish it forever.

Special Day

“Every day is so special @australiazoo ❤️,” Terri captioned the sweet portrait. The Irwins are outside in the photo, with the sun shining beautifully in the trees behind them. Just like the late Steve Irwin, the whole family is wearing khaki (including Grace!). The toddler, who turns 3 next month, is wearing a “Steve Irwin Day” Australia Zoo khaki shirt with khaki pants, with her curly brown hair in a ponytail on top of her head. Bindi is leaning down, holding her daughter and smiling at the little cutie, and Terri is on one knee on the other side of Bindi.

Pretty Parrot

SUNSHINE COAST, AUSTRALIA - SEPTEMBER 16: A vollunteer talks to an injured bird whilst cleaning a pen at The Australian Wildlife Hospital, the largest wildlife hospital in the world, on September 16, 2008 in Beerwah on The Sunshine Coast, Australia. The facility is located near Australia Zoo and was founded in 2004 by the late Steve Irwin in memory of his mother Lynn. It will be officially launched on Steve Irwin Day, November 15, 2008, to provide a surgical, rehabilitation and educational centre funded by the Wildlife Warriors Worldwide charity alongside 2.5 million dollars of donation from the Australian Government. The hospital will be able to treat up to 10,000 animals every year, and includes a koala disease research unit to help slow the rapidly declining numbers of koalas in Australia. While the women are looking at sweet Grace, she is enraptured by something else: a vibrant multi-colored parrot flying straight toward the camera. The parrot’s wings are outstretched to reveal their colorful orange feathers on the bottom and teal feathers on top, with a green head, a white face, and a black beak. The bird flew from Robert Irwin’s hands, who is standing up behind his family, and right by Grace’s head. The look on her face is sheer joy, as her eyes crinkle, her mouth is open, and her hands are curled next to her face. She looks dazzled by the stunning bird — and we don’t blame her at all.

This might just be the cutest picture we’ve ever seen!

Fans definitely agreed. “This is one for the photo book guys! What an awesome moment ❤️,” one person wrote.

“Grace’s facial expression makes everything worth it.😍” someone else said. Another person commented, “New generation of wildlife warrior. Look at the awe in her eyes 🙌🏽”

In a Sept. 2023 interview with SheKnows, Bindi shared how her family has always prioritized playtime. “We were kind of this wild family,” Bindi said with a laugh. “I grew up within Australia Zoo, so my home and my backyard is a sanctuary filled with wildlife. Growing up, we traveled a lot for our conservation work as well, and no matter where we were or what we were doing, we would always have playtime together as a family.”

She explained that she was “pretty much never indoors” as a child, adding, “I was always running around in the creek or running around with animals or climbing a tree. Honestly, looking back, I now really revel in the fact that I was so lucky to be able to have that childhood. I feel very, very blessed that I got that time with my family to run around as a wild child. And it was so much fun! It’s so much fun to have parents that just jump in with you and go.”

Earlier this week, Bindi shared a silly selfie of her and Grace at home. “My little sunshine making me the happiest mama on earth. ❤️” Bindi captioned the cute picture. The always have the best time together, no matter what!
