Bindi Irwin celebrates her mom Terri's

The Irwin family celebrates the small things.

On Jan. 20, Bindi Irwin shared a touching Instagram post for her mother, Terri Irwin, showing some love to the 58 and on her half birthday.

“In our family we celebrate half birthdays and call them ‘unbirthdays,’” explained the Australian television personality. “It’s such a lovely reminder that every day is a gift. Happy Unbirthday to my beautiful mama. Mum, You light up the world with your kind heart. I love you, forever.”

Bindi and her mom received lots of love in the comments section.

“The Royal Family of Australia! Well, Bindi certainly is a princess that Disney would be envious of. Love your family and always sending you all prayers of peace and many blessings,” wrote an Instagram user.

“Love Terri! She definitely deserves to be celebrated! Also, your necklace is lovely!” added a fan.

In the photo, Bindi wears a pendant necklace with a picture of her late father, Australian conservationist and TV host Steve Irwin. His 24-year-old daughter has found ways to celebrate him (and her mom!) through an adorable ritual with her daughter, Grace Warrior.

In Aug. 2022, the Australian TV personality posted an adorable video of her one-year-old daughter cuddling up to a photo of Steve and Terri at the zoo.

"Tears in my eyes as I share this video," she captioned the post. "We call my mum and dad, Bunny and Grandpa Crocodile with Grace. She loves them (and koalas) dearly. On every zoo walk she searches for pictures of her grandparents and it is beyond beautiful."

Bindi counts her late father as her daughter’s “guardian angel.” In Sept. 2022, Bindi shared a throwback photo and wrote, "Grandpa Crocodile, I know you would’ve been the most incredible grandfather because you were such an extraordinary dad. Thank you for being an amazing guardian angel for Grace."

Steve died in 2006 after a tragic encounter with a stingray when Bindi was only eight years old.

Since his death, the family has taken over his legacy as a conservationist. Together, they run the Australia Zoo and the charity he began in 2002, Wildlife Warriors, which raises funds for wildlife initiatives.
