Billy Porter Carried the Perfect Bag to the 2020 Oscars After-Party
Billy Porter wore a bag stamped with the imperative phrase Fuck U Pay Me! to the Vanity Fair Oscars party last night.
The statement-making accessory by These Pink Lips completed his shades-of-purple Christian Siriano ensemble.
Earlier in the night, Porter wore a custom gold Giles Deacon outfit.
Billy Porter has secured the literal bag.
The actor and red-carpet stunner showed up to the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party last night toting a black purse emblazoned with the phrase Fuck U Pay Me! The accessory is by These Pink Lips, a brand from Philadelphia-based designer Iris Barbee Bonner that focuses on women's empowerment and frequents bright patterns and bold text.
"I just love that this is his fav bag!" Bonner wrote on Instagram, as she celebrated Porter wearing her design.
The bag wasn't the only focal point of the ensemble—one look at his getup, and that was obvious. The head-turning shades-of-purple look was a custom creation by Christian Siriano with a feathered off-the-shoulder top, leather opera gloves, and lavender trousers. The Pose star, whose fashion repertoire includes its fair share of headpieces, turned up the drama with an extra-wide-brimmed hat by Sarah Sokol Millinery. Credit is also due to Porter's stylist, Sam Ratelle.
Because this is Porter, one over-the-top look was not enough for one night. Earlier in the evening, he wore a custom Giles Deacon metallic top and voluminous skirt inspired by Kensington Palace.
